Meine Oma is a botanically dyed clothing brand inspired by the slow, intentional way of living with the earth that our grandmothers embodied.

Growing up in Southern California, my Oma (German for grandmother) would always fix my clothes. I’d get a hole in a jacket, and before I could even ask, she would sew it up. She moved to America in her mid-20s and taught herself to sew, so being so close to her and now creating with the first sewing machine she ever owned feels like everything has come full circle.

I grew up in the city and always had a love for fashion and thrifting. I thought I’d end up working in fashion, until traveling opened my eyes to how fast fashion harms both people and the planet.

As the world becomes more artificial, many of us are craving the feeling of making something with our hands of learning through the process, slowly and intentionally, connected to the earth.

I fell completely in love with botanical dyeing. It gave me permission to be an artist who could be messy, experimental, and sustainable all at once. It allows me to give clothes a new life, and to offer people pieces that let them express themselves in fabric that feels natural, comfortable, and confident.

I’m slowly learning to sew and create my own clothing, and that’s the path I’m continuing to walk. I hope you enjoy these one-of-a-kind, breathing pieces.
